Anderson’s Great Schools of Dune trilogy
Story
Two Harkonnen sisters fight against forces threatening the future of humanity and found a fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping a dystopia, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. This series uses material from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the Sisterhood of Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The episode where Valya Harkonnen voices is from an event called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine with the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentatis, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors.
The pacing though?
Referenced in AniMati’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020). Let’s keep this review nice and tidy, shall we? No spoilers here—wouldn’t dream of spoiling the mystery for you. Now, the story itself is, well, totally serviceable. Nothing to write home about.
Pretty lazy, I must say
It’s a bit dull at times. I’m afraid the drama doesn’t exactly set the world on fire, although there are a few select moments that manage to grab attention. As for the production, it screams “high-end”. Still, it’s competent enough, though not exactly a masterpiece. But let’s not be too harsh – there’s some lovely acting on display, especially from Tabu.
So do I recommend it?
That woman is an absolute gem. The cinematography and music are good, but a bit of a letdown compared to DUNE. Steering? Well, it gets the job done, but it doesn’t spin any gold, if you catch my drift. If you want to uncover the backstory and see where it all begins, definitely turn it on.
Don’t expect fireworks
Better watch the Indian Mini Series "BRINDA" which may be low budget but has plenty of substance with engaging narration and realistic acting. The new season of "Shiloh" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month. Check out our November calendar for more!
